Hear about LA speed cameras before you reach them
Los Angeles turns on its first speed cameras on October 26, 2026. Speed Alert LA gives you a short spoken heads-up before each camera zone on your road, so you can check the posted limit without taking your eyes off the road — while you keep using Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze.
Coming soon to the App Store for iPhone.
How it works
Tap Start Drive, then just drive
- Tap Start Drive. Monitoring runs only during a drive you start, and keeps working with your iPhone locked.
- Hear the heads-up. “Speed camera zone ahead. Speed limit 35 miles per hour.” It plays through your iPhone or your car speakers.
- Tap End Drive. Location stops the moment you finish.
